You need to travel from your home to a place 40 miles (64 kilometers) away. Compare the different kinds of transportation you could use. Tell which method of travel you would choose. Give specific reasons for your choice.
There are many different types of transportation which I could use to travel this distance. The type of transportation I would choose depends mainly on how fast I need to get there and how much is costs. Some possibilities are walking, riding an animal,, driving, or using a taxi, bus, or train.
The most economical choice is walking. It costs nothing and is good for health. The downside is it is time consuming. The average person can walk about 4-5 miles per hour, so this trip would take at least 10 hours. That means I would probably have to spend the night somewhere along the way and divide the trip between two days. If I have to spend money on a hotel and some food, then this choice isn’t as cheap as it seems. Plus, I might arrive at the end tired and with sore feet! Another option is animal transportation. In my area, horses are not common, so it wouldn’t be a practical form of transportation to rely on. I believe that a 40-mile trip would take 2 or 3 hours on a horse. If I had free access to a horse, the cost would be minimal. Of course, first I’d need to learn how to ride!
With a car, the travel time is under an hour with only the cost of gasoline to consider. However, I don’t own a car, and so renting a car would be quite expensive, but definitely the fastest. Fortunately, I live in an urban area, where there are buses and trains to ride. One of these would be my first choice.
In short, the kind of transportation depends on how fast I need to get to my destination and how much money I have. If I need to get there as quickly as possible, and money is no issue, I can hire a private taxi. I have never walked 40 miles in one trip and this is an impractical and slow way to travel. I usually depend on the bus and trains, and would do so to travel the 40 miles. Public transportation is cheap and dependable.
1. The type of transportation I would choose depends mainly on how fast I need to get there and how much is costs.
2. If I had free access to a horse, the cost would be minimal. 此句中 free access to.. When horses are possible, we had better choose to ride it, because the cost is very small.
3. However, I don’t own a car, and so renting a car would be quite expensive, but definitely the fastest.
4. In short, the kind of transportation depends on how fast I need to get to my destination and how much money I have. In a word, the choosing of transportation depends on our basic requirements for this coming trip.
