Pandora said, “My dad is a gardener, so I will buy him a bouquet of roses and lilies for Father’s Day. They’re the most beautiful summer flowers. He’ll love it.”
Victor said, “My father is a diplomat, so I will buy him a tie for Father’s Day. It will have a photo of our entire family on it, so we can be with him no matter where he goes.”
Iris said, “My father is an architect. He’s going to build a big house, but he is very tired. I’m going to buy him a soft, fluffy pillow so he can sleep well.
Jimmy said, “My dad is a chef who makes delicious food, but he’s a little overweight. I want to buy him some exercise clothes so he can work out and stay healthy.”
Everyone was discussing their gifts, but only Andrew sat silently in his seat. Teacher Rolin walked over and asked him why he wasn’t talking.
Andrew raised his head and said, “My… my dad… he’s a driver for the subway. He’s never home… he leaves very early and gets home very late. He has to work on Father’s Day… and I don’t have money to buy him a gift.”
Everyone fell quiet, and Teacher Rolin went on to say, “In fact, the value of a gift isn’t related to how much money it costs. As long as it’s thoughtful, it will surely show your dad you love him.”
Following Teacher Rolin’s suggestion, everyone worked with Andrew to prepare a delicious lunch for his father. Andrew was very happy. Even though his dad was up before the sunrise, he could still enjoy a delicious lunch on father`s day.
It was the perfect Father’s Day gift. I hope you like this story. And for now, good night and sweet dreams.
