The semester began, and all the students put on their backpacks and happily went to class. Jimmy, though, stayed inside and didn’t go to class.
After class was over, Pandora felt a little worried, and asked her classmates, “Why wasn’t Jimmy in class today? Did something happen?”
Victor couldn’t think of any reason Jimmy wouldn’t be in class, so he suggested, “Why don’t we go visit him right now?”
After they arrived at Jimmy’s house, Pandora asked Jimmy, “Why weren’t you in school today? Are you sick? We were all worried about you.”
Jimmy saw everyone was concerned, and lowered his head in shame. He didn’t say anything.
Iris pulled Jimmy by the hand and said to him, “Friends should trust one another. Just tell us what’s wrong, and then we can help you solve your problem.”
Jimmy struggled for a long time, and finally decided to be honest about his problem: “I played too much during summer break, so I didn’t finish my homework. I thought the teacher would scold me, so I didn’t go to class.”
Jimmy looked nervously at Teacher Rolin.
But Teacher Rolin only breathed a sigh of relief. She said, “Jimmy, I won’t scold you, but you also can’t run away from your problems. You have to face them. Recognize your mistakes and change. Try to do better next time, and that’s enough.”
Jimmy finally smiled, and said to Teacher Rolin, “Thank you, teacher. I will finish my homework, and won’t make this mistake again.”
The class would participate in a competition the next semester. What interesting things might happen? Let’s find out next week.
Goodnight. Sweet dreams.
