On this day, Teacher Rolin looked outside and said, “It’s very hot today. Why don’t we play inside?” Victor was very excited and said, “Great! What should we do?”
Iris wrinkled her brow and thought, ‘What game should we play? Ah! Everyone brought their toys!’ So she immediately said, “Let’s get our toys out and play together.”
Teacher Rolin thought this was a very good suggestion, and replied, “This way, everyone can play with their own toys, and also their friends’ toys.”
Victor and Pandora nodded their heads.
Jimmy, however, was very unhappy. He thought to himself, ‘the toy I brought is my favorite, and I want to play with it some more. I don’t want to give it to anyone else.”
Iris and the other classmates played with the toy trains, and after taking turns, the train was ready to leave the station!
Jimmy fixed his eyes on the toy train. He was clearly jealous, but was too embarrassed to say he also wanted to play with them.
Teacher Rolin saw that Jimmy wanted to join them, and said to him, “Jimmy, there’s joy in sharing. If you share, you will be even happier. Share your toy with your friends.”
Jimmy listened to what Teacher Rolin told him and said, “I understand. I’ll be happier if I share, I guess.” So Jimmy took his building blocks and said, “Here. These are my blocks. Let’s play with them!”
Iris happily said, “Okay! Come over and play with us.”
The next day, though, Pandora felt sad. Why? Let’s find out next week.
Goodnight. Sweet dreams.
