近期，上海诺美学校启动了与若干所著名美国私立学校的友好交流活动。12月4日，上海诺美学校校园迎来了美国福赛斯学校的校长Mr. Gardner Barrier的到访。我校督学Mr. Mark. Butcher，学术校长Mr. Brian Popp ，运营总监Ms. Joyce Fan，升学指导部门Ms. Jenny Wang与美国福赛斯管理层开展亲密愉快的交流。
Recently, North American International School (shanghai) launched a series of friendly exchanges with several famous American private schools. On Dec. 4, the NAIS campus welcomed the Principal of Forsyth Country Day School -- Mr. Gardner Barrier. Our schools superintendent Mr. Mark Butcher, academic principal Mr. Brian Popp, and operations director Ms. Joyce Fan, as well as Ms. Jenny Wang from our college counseling center all together had an intimate and pleasant exchange with the management team of Forsyth Country Day School from the US.
美国福赛斯中学成立于1970年，有50年办学历史，位于美国北卡罗莱纳州的路易斯维尔。学校附近有多所美国著名高等学府，例如杜克大学，维克森林大学。 作为一所美国A+私立学校， 福赛斯中学开设从幼儿园至12年级的课程。为了维持高水平的教学，学校75%的老师拥有硕士或以上学位。同时，在大学升学准备(College Prep)方面也拥有丰富的经验和喜人的成果。
Forsyth high school was founded in 1970 in Louisville，North Carolina, and has a history of over 50 years. Near the Forsyth Campus, there are many famous American universities, such as Duke University and Wake Forest University. As an “A+” Day School in the United States, Forsyth Country Day school offers classes from kindergarten to Grade 12. In order to maintain a high level of teaching, 75% of teachers have master's degrees or above. Meanwhile, it also has rich experience in College Prep and satisfactory results of college enrollments.
North American International School uses the American high school Core Curriculum and is a member of AdvancED/Cognia systema which is a leading academic accreditation organization in the United States. Forsyth Country Day School is also a member of AdvancED/Cognia system. Both schools are supervised by the same accreditation organization and have a lot in common.
The Management Team from both sides have conducted exchanges and discussions on the curriculum system, teaching plans, management of teachers and students and teaching concepts, and reached a high degree of agreement. The two sides have indicated that they will learn from each other's school models and concepts, improve each other's teaching activities, and provide students with better quality and more comprehensive teaching resources.
Subsequently, the two sides discussed the idea of further inter-school academic and activity exchanges in order to provide students from both schools with richer learning resources and better cultural experiences.
After the meeting, the Forsyth management team visited the campus of North American International School and highly appraised the campus environment, teaching management and management results. They also affirmed the high attention that NAIS paid to students and teachers, as well as the school philosophy and measures of cultivating future-oriented international talents.
North American International School and American Forsyth Country Day School will continue to communicate and promote the exchange of academic and cultural visits between teachers and students of both schools.
