The music lessons in Lucton are always are loud and full of sound. Year 9 students are taught to play a great piece, Stravinsky - Rite of Spring, on the xylophones to learn the ensembleship. At the same time, the year 9 students are building up their musicianship, basic music theory and creativity in make music. The GCSE class had their in-class solo performances earlier this term to experience the feeling to perform on stage. The A Level is of course not left behind. They have started to transcribe and arrange music for different ensemble and in different genres.
School choir is another group we must mention. The Lucton School Choir has done a few performances in front of the whole school during assembly this term. We also sang in the Remembrance assembly to celebrate the end of World War I. School choir will be singing in the last assembly before Christmas. Don’t miss out!
The fully equipped recording and music production rooms are opened for all students. Everyone takes this opportunity very seriously that they go to the recording room to record songs almost every night. The student union also well used the recording room to produce the school radio.
Many more music is non-stop happening in Lucton. The student union is running an inter-class competition called Melody of Lucton. The performance will be on stage on 20th December, the last of school before Christmas, to help our students and parents begin the hohoho holiday.
