  每一个梦都值得被守护,当我们为梦想插上翅膀以后,还需要前进的方向。老师就是这样一个角色,他们为年轻的梦指引方向,在迷途和黑暗的道路上点亮光芒。在世界各地遭受到疫情的影响后,湖州帕丁顿双语学校国际部的老师们就守候在屏幕前方,为即将面临全球考试和升学的国际部同学准备优质的线上课堂,这也是他们最重要的使命。

  湖州帕丁顿双语学校国际部的老师们也通过此次线上教学,抓住机遇,迎接挑战,总结心得,分享经验,让我们听一听,老师们的经验吧。

  2020年的寒假是我经历过最长的寒假,疫情大规模的袭来,打破了我们原本的开学计划。但人类之所以伟大,是因为我们有能力去面对困境和解决困境。前方的“战场”上有医护人员的保家护国,而后方的我们按照原本的开学时间采用线上教学来抵挡疫情所带来的影响。

  很多同学在今年五月都会迎来国际AP,Alevel考试。因此,在线上教学开展前,家长们和同学们都很担心是否会影响考试的备战,但如期开展的线上教学也或多或少让同学和家长们吃下了一颗定心丸。虽然线上教学不可避免地存在着弊端,但对于同学们来说更是一次新的机会和挑战。我也很高兴看见他们从一开始的不适应到现在主动自觉的完成作业和课程安排的转变。

  我也非常感谢家长们,能够支持和配合学部的工作,使得此次线上课程能够顺利开展。更让我惊喜的是我们的线上班会课,围绕着疫情防护,以及疫情前线人员为主题,同学们主动地抒发内心所感,也希望他们能真正把这份社会责任感谨记于心。我们也许还是不能立刻回到校园里,但是相信我们现在的努力是为了待春暖花开的时候,在校园里更好的相遇!

  为了贯彻教育部在疫情期间“停课不停学”的号召,小帕开展了线上教学,以保证学生能够在家依然保持学习状态,完成相应学习任务。当然,新型在线教学方式给学习带来了新的机遇和提升的同时,也给老师和同学带来了严峻的挑战。

  线上课程的优势在于可以利用网络教学软件,对于英语教学来说,学生可以直接看到老师做的笔记和板书,并可以随时在聊天频道打字进行提问。这样,老师也可很快注意到学生的问题和学习状态,并有针对性进行讲解。由于学生在家,在进行英语生词查询和阅读理解上,可以利用手边的工具进行及时查询单词意思或阅读背景知识,可以强化自主学习意识,扩大知识面。利用网络教学软件,学生还可以进行录屏功能,对于没有听懂或者没有来得及做笔记的地方进行反复观看,尤其是对于语法教学部分,提升了学习的效率。有些同学面对面问老师问题可能会紧张,但隔着屏幕,学生的紧张感和压力感会小很多,在提问或回答问题时,回应度和配合度会更高,提高课堂知识吸收度。

  但在线教学也存在问题,例如学生很容易进行词汇查询,所以容易过度依赖翻译软件进行英语翻译。平时课堂小测也难以测出真实水平,老师也需要随时与学生保持联系,进行电话沟通,以保证学生学习状态。

  我们班会采取投屏及限制时间的方式,以保证学生来不及借助额外工具进行查询;每天都会在固定的时间进行线上单词小测并在晚上21:00前收集好所有学生作业;课上随时抽查,以保证学生确实能跟上课程进度;对于作业未交的学生,微信催促并记录下来,以周为单位及时反馈给家长,以便于家长的配合。

  2020年伊始的这场突如其来的疫情,给我们带来灾难的同时也对教育带来了机遇和挑战。在线课堂的展开,对学校,教师和学生们都提出了新的要求。学生如何走向更大程度的自我管理?作为教师如何运用“世界教材”,引导学生探究发生、思考开始,走向未来;作为管理者如何凝聚自己组的成员们并带动大家一起成长,共同进步,也是在线教学开始以来我一直在思考的问题。

  疫情让我们认识到,教育需要诚恳地面对自己和世界,给孩子们真正有用的学习,让他们拥有更完整丰沛的人生。不仅学生们需要不断提升核心素养、自主管理能力,教师们更应该成为洞察未来的教育工作者,开始走向“知识情境的策展人”、“学习行为的设计师”。

  作为英语组的组长,更应该在这个特殊时期,配合好学校在线工作的展开,并组织协调好组内的工作,加强与其他英语老师之间的沟通与联系,保持信息的即时性和统一性;同时通过在线会议,微信观点讨论,课堂巡课等手段,共同探讨研究教学,促进专业水平的提升。最终带领成员们为创造更好的健康的教育生态,实现学生全面、个性化发展助力。

  自2月10以来,面对突发的疫情,新学期开学及上课受到了很大的影响。如何让学生接受教育的权力得到履行成为了每个教育者需要面对的问题。我校各位教师秉承着“停课不停学”的理念,运用了线上教学的方式。在学部主任同各科组长的协调下,在开学前就安排好了10号之后的授课计划,保障了后期工作的有序进行。

  对于线上授课,我所感受到与平时教学的一个最大不同是老师和家长之间的任务分工产生了变化,老师不再作为学生学业监察的直观接触者。在平时的课堂上,老师可以通过学生们的直观表现,看出他们的学习状态,进而做出调整。而在网络授课时,学生们是否认真听讲?有没有走神?这些方面是客观上无法控制的。这时家长作为学生在家的密切接触者,承担了监管学生学习状态的主体。老师则退一位,作为辅助者去帮助家长完善他们的管理。这就要求教师及时向家长反应学生在线上课堂和线下作业的表现。

  在我校国际部,各个领导和学科老师评定学生的学期成绩时,并不只看期中和期末的考试成绩。平时的量化考核也被算在了其中,且占据很大一块比例。我们相信这样的成绩更能体现出学生宏观的表现而不是某一段时间状态起伏。在线上授课期间,难以对学生做一些统一的考试。所以平时成绩就成为了老师向家长反应学生状态的有力支持。可以细分为出勤,课堂表现和作业完成情况。这样家长在看到学生这段时间内的考评后便可以针对性的进行检查督促。保证他们的孩子以一个正确的态度完成线上授课期间的学习,也能保证后期返校时学生的学业可以平稳的衔接。

  总而言之,疫情期间,我们老师和家长都要付出更多的努力,来确保学生们不荒废他们学业生涯中的每一段时光。

  鼠年伊始,突如其来的疫情给我们原本红红火火的新年,蒙上了一层灰色,也给我们热闹的春节假期降了降温。不论是学生还是我们,都意外的收获了一个长长的假期,就连新学期的开学也如此与众不同,特殊、新潮而富有科技感。

  “停课不停学”开展以来,线上授课的形式让每一位学生和老师都迎来了新的体验和挑战。对我们老师而言,更是一次充电和实战演练的过程。

  作为一名教育者,我们要通过这样特殊的经历开拓自己的眼界,拓展自己的知识面,把防控疫情的知识、当今的实事与新闻,人们面对灾难困境时的思考,以及如何应对和处理的方式传递给每一位学生和家长。

  作为一名德育工作者,我们应当积极思考和探索,分析疫情,明辨是非,多方求证,客观评判。剖析疫情中展现的人性,把正能量传递给身边的人,歌颂英雄的事迹,弘扬美德和仁义。

  作为一名管理者,要乐于分享和交流我们的思维方式,价值观念,把最前沿的信息和咨询与他人分享,凝炼感悟,总结经验,更好地去为线下的开学做准备,为今后的每一次挑战做准备。

  “Distress Rejuvenates a Nation; Hardship Nurtures a People”

  As we have initially planned, the new semester should commence on February 10, 2020. Due to the unexpected epidemic threats, however, we may not be able to soon enough return to our familiar campus full of happiness, hope, admiration and expectation. Based on which, we are encouraged to race against time and start our teaching and learning at home in advance. Therefore, through modern means of communication online teaching and learning was implemented. Thus, on February 10th the students of HPBS are going to start their homebased learning journey. At the beginning of the online course, Principal Chen encouraged the students and teachers to stick to the right path in the face of disaster, and to be faithful and unyielding spirits.

  Moreover, I clearly remember that when the devastating earthquake happened in Sichuan province, Mr. Wen Jiabao, the Premier of the State Council, walked into a classroom of an ordinary local school, and wrote four Chinese characters on the blackboard — “duo nan xing bang”, meaning distress rejuvenates a nation. He said that every time China suffers a major disaster, Chinese people always show unprecedentedly enormous solidarity to face our common enemy. China has gone through hardships but has also been reborn once and again on her path to national rejuvenation.

  Today, we are fortunate enough to meet all these conditions. And now experiencing a great struggle against the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia. It is a time that will produce a multitude of heroes and a time that cannot be missed.

  There are reasons to believe that every Chinese with human nature will pass the test with flying colours. We are fully confident that this epidemic disaster will bring about groups of medical talents, heroes in healthcare, emergency management experts, philanthropists with great love, and people-cantered commanders. And to the ordinary people like us, as long as we well protect ourselves and our families, we will all become winners at the end of this great struggle.

  Teachers and students, in this great struggle, we cannot be content with mere waiting. I hope that everyone will make full use of our free time and space to continue our teaching or learning as required by HPBS.

  Although, the school opening can be postponed, but our teaching and learning cannot be pulled down. We must never stop chasing after our personal goals and dreams. While the others are being lazy and idle, we can learn with a well-designed plan. While the others are watching TV or playing with their phones, we can make an effective use of the Internet and artificial intelligence to guide our students’ learning. While the others are passively coping with the homework assigned by their teachers, we can read extensively, think deeply, integrate resources across disciplines, use new learning technologies and methods, and move towards deep learning with the help of the Internet. While the others are complaining helplessly, we can burn the midnight oil to explore scientific and efficient teaching methods to “teach for the future.”

  When the disaster is over, as we walk again onto the campus, we will have mastered a set of scientific learning methods, developed a habit of independent thinking, and become a successful learner treated with increased respect. As a teacher, because of our advanced teaching methods, we will have become a master in teaching, planning, and mentoring. By then, HPBS will have acquired a completely new outlook with the quality of our teaching and learning being advanced by leaps and bounds.

  Last but not least, I would like to share about the unconventional speech of the next presidential candidates, Supreme court Chief Justice John Roberts. And he said,

  “From time to time in the years to come, I hope you will be treated unfairly, so that you will come to know the value of justice. I hope that you will suffer betrayal because that will teach you the importance of loyalty. I hope you will be lonely from time to time so that you don't take friends for granted. And when you lose, as you will from time to time, I hope every now and then, your opponent will gloat over your failure. So that you will come to know the importance of sportsmanship with mutual respect. I hope you'll be ignored so you know the importance of listening to others, and I hope you will have just enough pain to learn compassion. Whether I wish these things or not, they're going to happen. And whether you benefit from them or not will depend upon your ability to see the message in your misfortunes.”
