  而湖州帕丁顿双语学校开设的STEAM课程一直以来都受到了家长和孩子们的欢迎和喜爱。这不,8月5日,小帕和小伙伴们约定开展的STEAM活动,又一次带着家长和孩子们感受了3D打印及VR眼镜制作与体验的魅力。

  STEAM courses offered by Huzhou Paddington Bilingual School has always been welcomed and loved by parents and students. And on Aug 5, I joined the students in their STEAM activities, letting parents and kids experiencing the charm of3D printing and the fun of making VR glasses.

  此次为孩子们上课的老师大家应该并不感到陌生,他就是在STEAM 课程的理论研发以及实践操作中一直走在教育前沿的韩博士。那么,他为孩子们准备了什么课程呢?小帕来揭秘啦!

  You may find the teacher giving lessons this time a little bit familiar. Yes, it’s Doctor Han who has long been at the forefront in the theoretical study and practice of STEAM courses. So what courses did he prepare for kids? Let’s go and find out!

STEAM能力课:马良的神笔

  第一节课:马良的神笔

  Lesson 1: 3D Printing -Like the Magic Paintbrush of Ma Liang

  绘画可以说是人类文明传承的载体,而这次咱们韩博士带给孩子们的就是极具未来感和实用价值的3D绘画技术!

  Paintings can qualify as a carrier for the inheritance of human civilization, and what Dr. Han brought to kids this time was 3D painting technology with a full sense of the future and high practical value!

  认真听完韩博士的讲解,小朋友们已经迫不及待地提起笔,经过认真的描摹和配色,孩子们的作品初见雏形。接下来大家都遇到了一个大难题:如何把描绘出来的“零部件”拼接成真正的立体物品?孩子们根据自己的发散思维,并结合韩博士的引导,难题很快就克服了。

  After carefully listening to Dr. Han’s explanations the kids were raring to go. The works gradually took shape after scrupulous drawing and coloring. Then there came a big problem: How to assemble the “parts” into a real stereoscopic painting? The kids used their divergent thinking and soon solved the problem under the guidance of Dr. Han.

  远洋的航船,炫彩的单车,瑰丽的孔雀……各种事物出现在孩子们的妙笔之下。时间过得很快,第一节课已经进入尾声,稍作休息,我们马上进入了第二节课!

  Full of creativity, the kids created ocean ships sailing far away, colorful bikes, beautiful peacocks and many other works with their magic pens. Time passed quickly and we are at the end of Lesson 1. Now let’s first take a short break and Lesson 2 will soon begin!

STEAM能力课:VR眼镜制作和体验

  第二课节:VR眼镜制作和体验

  Lesson 2: Experiencing with VR Glasses

  区别于第一节课的操作性和要求孩子们的动手能力,第二课给孩子们带来更多的是感官体验和思想的衍生!

  Different from Lesson 1 that focused on practice and kids’ hands-on ability, Lesson 2 was more about rich sensory experience and the formation of ideas.

  一个纸盒,利用凸透镜的成像原理,孩子们就能制作完成一副简单的VR眼镜。当孩子们迫不及待地感受起VR眼镜带来的真实视觉冲击和感官享受时,就会发现世界就在他们的眼前!

  By applying the imaging principle of convex lens, students were taught to make a simple pair of VR glasses with a paper box. In their eager rush to feel the real visual impact and sensory enjoyment brought by the VR glasses, they will see that the world is right in front of them!

  一天的课程到这里就结束了,可以看到相较于普通的课堂,STEAM 课程更容易激发孩子们的学习兴趣和学习热情。能够让孩子们在实践中了解各种规律和学科知识,开拓了视野,增长了见识。这也与湖州帕丁顿双语学校培养具有民族情怀,现代技能,国际视野的现代公民的培养目标相契合。

  A day’s courses soon ended. It’s clear that STEAM courses can more easily stir up kids’ interest and passion in learning than ordinary classes.
